Drone Contraband Drop Foiled at Washington State Prison, Hikal Abdulrahman Arrested

In an alarming incident at Washington State Prison, law enforcement authorities have arrested Hikal Abdulrahman and issued warrants for another suspect in connection with a drone attempting to drop contraband into the prison premises.

Deputies from Washington County were alerted to the drone drop on December 6 at approximately 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, they intercepted a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Highway 231 and South Sparta Davisboro Road.

After conducting a thorough search, deputies confirmed that contraband had indeed been dropped at the prison just before the traffic stop. Subsequently, the Georgia Department of Corrections located and secured the dropped items.

Hikal Abdulrahman was taken into custody. He now faces charges including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, crossing guard lines with weapons or drugs, and items prohibited by inmates.

Sheriff Joel Cochran of Washington County emphasized the importance of community vigilance, urging residents to report any suspicious activities on and around the Washington State Prison grounds. He also stated that cooperation is invaluable in helping maintain a secure environment for everyone.
